Every morning, an elderly man named Slava walks into the IFCJ-supported Mana Hama soup kitchen in Ashdod, Israel. He is there to fill two food containers with lunch and dinner for himself and his wife. Slava explains, “My wife is completely disabled. She can't leave the apartment. With all of our expenses, we would never be able to finish out the month on our own." "Thank God that Rabbi Eckstein and The Fellowship's donors understand how important Mana Hama is to the residents of this neighborhood. All of the people who come here are old, disabled, or poor. We have nowhere else to turn,” said Slava. With Israel’s government forced to spend more of its resources to fight terrorism and defend her borders, there is often little left to help elderly people like Slava and his wife. That is why I urge you to reach out to lend a “Helping Hand” today. Your gift will make a very meaningful difference in the lives of the less fortunate. With prayers for shalom, peace,
Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein
